京都大学吉田寮で開催した、SHIFT80の写真展「私たちの暮らしにようこそ。さあ、対話しましょう。」が、KYOTOGRAPHIE 京都国際写真祭主催 「KG＋ DISCOVERY Award 2025」（Supported by FUJIFILM）を受賞いたしました。

本アワードは、京都市内各所で開催されるKG＋の展覧会の中から、これからの活躍が期待される作家1組を選出するものです。
今年は100を超える展示の中から約90組がエントリーし、書類審査を経て、ファイナリスト10組に選出。プレゼンテーション審査によりSHIFT80が受賞となりました。

この展示は、11年にわたる活動で出会ってきたキベラスラムの若者たちと共につくりあげたものです。
写真の力で、彼らのクリエイティビティを伝えること・対話の場をつくろうと試みました。彼らのパワフルな姿、希望を生み出す力、そしてSHIFT80のこれまでの取り組みを、このようなかたちで評価していただけたことを、とてもうれしく光栄に思います。

審査員の皆さま、KYOTOGRAPHIE / KG＋運営の皆さま、展示に関わってくださったすべての方々に、心より感謝申し上げます。

[Award Announcement]

We are honored to announce that SHIFT80’s exhibition “Welcome to Our Lives. Let’s Engage in Dialogue.”, held at Kyoto University’s historic Yoshida Dormitory, has been awarded the KG＋ DISCOVERY Award 2025, hosted by KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival and supported by FUJIFILM.

This prestigious award selects one emerging artist from among the many exhibitions featured throughout Kyoto as part of the KG＋ satellite program. This year, over 100 exhibitions took place, with about 90 officially entered into the competition. After document review and live presentations, SHIFT80 was chosen as the Grand Prize winner from the 10 finalists.

The exhibition was co-created with young people living in Kibera, Kenya—our partners in a wide range of creative and social initiatives over the past 11 years. Our aim was not only to share their creativity through photography, but also to build a space for meaningful dialogue, connecting viewers directly with the individuals portrayed.

We are deeply honored that their vibrant energy, their power to generate hope, and the ongoing efforts of SHIFT80 have been recognized in this way.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the jury, the KYOTOGRAPHIE / KG＋ team, and everyone who supported the realization of this exhibition.
